This classic horror film from Soviet Russia is based on an original story by novelist Nikolai Gogol. Thomas Brutus is a theology student who becomes involved in the dealings of the devil when he asked to recite verse over the corpse of a freshly dead young woman. This woman is an agent of the Most Unholy, and those with whom she is in league tempt and torment him endlessly over the three days of his mission.
