An obsessed scientist forces a group of convicted murderers out to sea where he performs grisly glandular experiments in an effort to rid them of their criminal tendencies. The ship's captain leads a mutiny to overtake the doctor and his strongmen, but is turned into a zombie for his trouble! Director Victor Halperin (<i>White Zombie</i>) adapted this lurid tale from an 1899 Jack London story, <i>A Thousand Deaths</i>. It was released by Producers Distributing Corporation (later PRC) and features familiar character actors Irving Pichel (<i>Dracula's Daughter</i>) Skelton Knaggs and Lyle Talbot.
