In Top Trumps NBA All Stars, each card shows a different pro basketball star, along with numerical ratings in a list of categories. Cards are distributed evenly between the players at the start of a game. The first player turns over the top card, chooses a category, and then compares the NBA star's rating in that category to those listed on the other players' cards. The card with the highest rating score in the chosen category wins the round, and all the cards that were in play are added to the winner's pile. As in the traditional card game "War," the object is to win all the cards in the deck, completely defeating the other players.
