Nick McCallum (Ryan Kwanten) works as a mechanic in the family's garage, but dreams of one day making it as a professional surfer. With his friend and mentor Dane Sanders (pro-surfer Jarrod Dean), Nick trains to ride massive walls of water, despite knowing that the waves could leave him wheelchair-bound and bitter as they did his own father.
