About this product:

From Langley Park to Memphis, released in March 1988, was Prefab Sprout's third studio album. The title is taken from a lyric to the track The Venus of the Soup Kitchen and refers to the village of Langley Park, County Durham in England and the city of Memphis, Tennessee in the USA. Nightingales features Stevie Wonder on the harmonica, while Pete Townshend plays acoustic guitar on Hey Manhattan!. All songs on the album were written by Paddy McAloon, who also produced many of the tracks. Paddy McAloon on the album: "Hand on heart I think we've made a great record. I think the songs surpass anything on 'Steve McQueen' yet musically and lyrically they're more accessible. That's a deliberate move. I've realised that a good simple song is better than a half-successful complicated one." - NME, February, 6, 1988
